Bay, born 1994, height 16.2+ hh (1.69 m), KWPN (breeding family 900)
A fabulous Groningen dam-line and five performance stallions in a row: This is the genetic power of Mermus R, a top sire that passes on talent, carefulness, and athleticism, a true successor of his world famous father.
His dam, DW Termie, is among Roelofs’ cream of the crop. She also is the dam of the stallions Odermus R and Wender R. Among horses the Dermie line has produced are the international jumpers G Adermie, C Adermie, F Termie, Jean, Matsuru’s Joker, La Belle de Jour, and Toys R Us.
Mermus R produces nice moving horses with good temperaments. They have attractive, well-developed, rectangular shaped conformation and good height. They mature a bit late. Mermus R offspring have been impressing judges and spectators alike for several years now at mare selections and jumping competitions. These offspring have a fantastic take-off and abundant talent. They jump very carefully and with excellent hindquarter technique.
The first Mermus R offspring have shown in major international competitions. Rubert R jumps at the highest level with Peter Charles and Mylene Diedrichsmeier wins a lot of prizes with her Roelofs bred Anuberta (Mermus R x Joost). One of the most impressive young international show jumpers is the Mermus R offspring Talent, ridden by Nina Fagerstrom from Finland. Other Mermus R offspring that show internationally include Ramazotti, Rembrandt, Salerno, and Santana.
At the Expo Talent Sale, Violet (Mermus R x Pablo, € 110,000), winner of the quality assessments for five-year-old show jumpers at CSI Twente in Geesteren, and Exclusive (Indoctro x Mermus R, € 175,000) were among the most expensive horses auctioned. At Holger Hetzel’s auction, an Elmshorn x Mermus R was sold for € 420,000. The Zangersheide approved stallion Within Temptation was amongst the elite collection of Paul Schockemöhle’s PSI auction.
Mermus R is only available by frozen semen.
