Bred out of the Holstein dam line that produced Joost, Ahorn, Cosimo, Briscar, Merano, Alcatraz and Castellini, Zahros R combines the best from Holstein with the best from Stal Roelofs. Zahros R was sold to pursue a career in the international arena.

Zahros R is the first son of Sam R, a stallion with a high percentage of Thoroughbred blood and son of the proven breeding stallion Mermus R. Zahros R is the first son among the S-year jumper stallions.
Zahros R’s dam is Zarah. Her sire is Rebel I Z, a full brother to the Olympic jumper Ratina Z. Zarah currently has four approved sons, including the international jumper Sandstone Laurin, a Grand Prix jumper shown by American Gabriela Salick and the NAWPN approved breeding stallion O Zarah (s.Cor d’Alme Z). Zarah is also the dam of the KWPN approved stallion Rash R, who was sold to Canada as a show jumper.
Zahros R is out of the very well-known Holsteiner line 242. Other horses out of this excellent line include the stallions Joost, Ahorn, Cosimo, Briscar, Merano, Alcatraz, Lesanto, Easy Way I and II, Caitano, and Castellini.
Zahros R’s sire, Sam R, carries Thoroughbred blood by way of Abgar xx (2x)—blood that is greatly needed for the sport!
Zahros R completed the KWPN performance test with very good scores. He is being shown by Hendrik Jan Schuttert. In the Dutch competition for approved stallions, Zahros R impressed the crowds with his reflexes, carefulness and enormous scope. He is easy to ride and gives his rider a good feeling. Just like his famous half-brothers, Zahros R is a jumper with a super disposition.
